What would the little you say? How would the little you look at you now? What would you say to little you?
Little me was unsure of things. Little me was so quiet and so shy. Little me stayed in my own little world. Little me always wondered what it would be like living as an adult.
It's talked a lot about how we communicate with our future selves, but it's not talked about as much when we talk to the younger version of ourselves. That's just as important though. They both give you clarity and peace.
Most likely, little you would be proud of you now. Most likely, little you would be excited to see you now. Most likely, little you would look at you with wonder and awe. Most likely, little you would love you so much.
You have the chance to let her know that you are making sure you're giving yourself everything that she ever needed and wanted. You have the chance to put her at ease.
If the little you was always wondering what it would be like to grow up, you have the chance to let her know that you're making things happen.
You can even change your mind about things, what you want to do, and what you want. It's your life. It's a gift to communicate with little you and tell her how you're doing.
She watches you now. Have you talked to her? She always wanted to know.
Love,
Jessica
Thank you, Jessica. For a little while now, I’ve set on my bedroom floor a big portrait of me at age 6 my mom had printed and framed for me. On that picture, I have an impish and daring look, something in-between « try me on that » and « I’m planning on having a lot of fun ». She’s the one I’m accountable to and I’m pretty sure she would be proud of me though encouraging me to enjoy myself more, be more playful with life. Lots of love.
